Great, you’re ready to complete a checklist for a child in your care.

Screening/Monitoring

Visit the CDC’s Developmental Milestones Checklist to complete an age appropriate checklist for a child in your care. Remember, this can be done either individually or in collaboration with the child’s family!

Completing the checklist is easy! Simply follow the prompts under each developmental domain and think about all of the times you observe a child in your care play. Do you observe this specific skill? Check the box. Once you have completed the checklist for all of the domains, take a look and see how many milestones the child is meeting.

If a child is not meeting milestones or has lost skills they once had, or there are other concerns, talk with the child’s family, share your concerns, and encourage the family to contact their pediatrician or perhaps complete a screener.
