Using the milestone checklists are a great tool for communicating children’s developmental progress with families on a regular basis. Establishing a regular touchpoint with families to discuss their child’s development also creates a safe environment to bring up concerns as they arise.

If you notice that a child is not meeting milestones when monitoring development, it’s recommended that you work with the family to talk with their child’s pediatrician about any concerns and consider completing a developmental screening.
